I had five replacement windows to install and had one of those cheap caulk guns. Darn thing hurt my hands trying to squeeze out the caulking. Thought about replacing it with a battery operated and pneumatic gun...but the cordless ones are just too expensive, and I didn't want to lug the compressor out every time. Then, when I realized the "thrust" specification for a manual caulk gun was the key to saving your hands, I go this with a 26:1 ratio. WOW! I had to get used to it, as it really needs very little finger force to get the caulking to flow. That plus using the pressure-release lever (to stop flow), and I was in business! So, for those who want a simple-to-use, hand saving caulk gun, this is the cat's whiskers. Highly recommended.
I ordered this to do some caulking in my kitchen, between the countertops and walls. I am a petite woman and don't have very strong hands and so the average caulk gun we own was very difficult for me to push the handle down and get any kind of consistent beading done. I absolutely hated having to use it. This handle was very comfortable to hold and was shockingly easy to control. It presses down super smoothly and with almost zero effort. I really enjoyed working on my project with this! I am going to use it next to recaulk the bathrooms.
This thing is great, and made it so easy to run consistent beads over a large (for me) project (two doors, a room full of floor trim, and a trim around a pair of carriage doors). I've spent my whole life using those cheapie caulk guns from big box home stores, and got used to aching hands and forearms. This caulk gun required very little effort to dispense material and it's now one of my "I'm never giving that up" tools.
