    Description

Please look at the picture.  It is better than any description I can write.  If you have a reasonable offer on a fixed price item, please feel free to contact me.
I try to list everything I can in the title.
I am a retired philatelist.  I guarantee your satisfaction and will accept returns and issue a full refund for any reason whatsoever.
I recommend expertisation on any expensive item.
I do this because it is fun.  Customer service, however, is not my forte. :)
Please communicate with me immediately if it involves:
My listing is wrong or anything is dodgy.  Sometimes I mess up.  We all do.  Let me know. I will try to fix it.
You want special shipping that costs more - signature, registered, special handling etc.
You received it and you want to return it for a full refund.  YES.  Absolutely and no problem at all.
You have received the wrong item or an item is missing from a big order.  I mess up sometimes and I will fix it.
It is after 30 days and you have not received your item.
I appreciate if you communicate with me and it involves:
A relevant, or really any, philatelic detail.  I love this hobby and love to learn about new things.
You have a reasonable offer on any high priced fixed value item and have a comparable sale or catalog price.
    Something nice to say.
Please do not communicate with me at all if it involves (this is me perpetuating "grumpy old man" stereotype :)
    Ending an auction early
Shipping and/or handlings costs and/or shipping discounts if you buy more than one cover. Pay what Ebay says. Any discounts will be applied then.
Why it takes up to 30 days for you to get your item.  (Note that it says "UP TO!". I travel a lot and the person who helps me with photographing and shipping only comes to the house once a week.  Usually you will get it within a week or two but it may take up to 30 days.
What is the tracking number? Regular USPS does not provide a tracking number. There is no tracking number unless you paid extra for some other service.
I haven't received it.  After 30 days, let me know and I will fix it.
Can you put stamps involving XXXXX on the envelope. Sorry but no. I use stamps unless it is a USPS Priority Mail box.  I try to use older discount postage or Forever commemoratives but that is it.  I do my best.  You get what you get.
Anything involving what Ebay may or may not be doing or let you do or how you bid or cannot bid or combine shipments or whatever.  I don’t know.  Call Ebay please.
Basically, anything that wastes my time and takes me away from philately, family and retirement.
    Finally,
Philately.  It is about history in your hands.  I love and support this hobby and now I am retired, this is what I do in the evenings.  Drink wine, buy stuff, pull stuff for me, post stuff on Facebook and the Internet about philately, donate stuff, get rubbish off the market, sell stuff cheap, go to stamp shows, exhibit and meet very cool people on the way.  I am also going to start selling most of my own stamp collection as I only collect covers these days and I could use the money to buy some more as I don’t make anything from this.
I also want to encourage you to get involved in philately, if you are not already.  Check out…
    The American Philatelic Society
    The Royal Philatelic Society
    The Smithsonian National Postal Museum
The British Postal Museum and Archive
Local, National and International groups.  (The APS website above has listings of all of the societies, groups and shows)
My primary collecting area is the China Overprints.  Check them out on the web.  I am also collecting GB and US stampless.
Thanks for reading the above and I hope that it makes sense. I have tried multiple versions of the above over the last year and yet somehow still get deluged with questions about shipping times and costs and I have not yet figured out how to efficiently and politely deal with this.
    General Information
To get the best shipping rates:
    Auctions
: Wait until all of your bids have closed, then pay one time or ask for an invoice.
    Buy it now:
Place items into your shopping cart, when you've chosen all of your items, check out once.
Every time you complete checkout, the shipping discount flag gets reset by eBay and the next item gets charged at full shipping price.
If you want tracking, expedited, or registered services, please notify me before you pay for your items. I'll will send you an invoice with the new shipping charges. It costs over to add "registered mail" to international orders. So the costs can become substantial.
    Pictures:
I try to post high resolution images. Just click on the image to make it larger. If you want to scrutinize it more closely, save it to your computer and enlarge it even more.
    Sniping Software:
Yes, some people don't like this. But for customers who are in different time zones, or can't be at your computer at the close of the auction, there are services that will place bids for you in the final moments of an auction. I use eSnipe regularly myself, when necessary.
