Description
This was a prototype BMW EV Inverter Precharger unit with In and Out Lithium Battery Disconnect contactor control. Since it was used for prototype leased BMW's only top Quality components were used for the build. This is an original used unit in good working condition. This is a complete unit for the DIYer that needs to build a custom unit for Precharging and In and Out Battery Disconnect control. What you see is what you get as BMW does not sell this unit since it was used on Protoype EV's. Below you will see a list of everything enclosed within the plastic case. We use this same unit in repurposed form to build custom remote disconnects with precharge units. You will have to add your own timer and voltage control unit to complete the package. this unit will handle at least 350 Amps and 400vdc with no problems, the unit control voltage is 12 volt. We sell these for UsedDC so if you need more information on these please refer to there site for the technical info and tips.Precharging is necessary when you connect your battery bank to your inverter. If you do not pre charge you will shorten the life of you inverter, any components in between and could even cause problems with your battery BMS. So precharging is common practice in any good installation.
