This is a CNC machined 60 tooth gear for the 1:16 scale Turnigy vehicles made from 7075 grade aluminum. This is made to replicate the original stock .5 mod pitch spur gear.
This is an aluminum part, if you try to run it with a steel pinion, you will have a catastrophic failure sooner rather than later. It's no different than using a brass pinion with a plastic gear. A harder material will chew up a softer material. Using either a brass or an aluminum pinion will give the best possibility of longer life. Works great and should last (see note above)!
Please remember to set your mesh so that the gear and pinion are parallel and perpendicular to assure best performance.
