Caulk and Adhesive Gun (XGC01Z, tool-only) is a versatile, powerful and lightweight solution for any contractor dispensing large amounts of caulk and adhesives. It's part of Makita's expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion series, the world's largest cordless tool line-up powered by 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style battery. Makita 18-Volt Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18-Volt LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the Star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside.

It gets heavy after about 10 minutes of use and no hooking device to hang the tool on to the ladder. It’s a little awkward when there’s no place to set the tool down or at least a hanging hook would help. It doesn’t prevent the sealant from coming out of a tube even when the trigger is released.

A bit clunky to use and the caulk tube gets loose (wants to fall out) unless you strap in in with rubber bands (or something else). However it works well and has enough power to get the job done. When the trigger is released, the unit backs off to avoid over dispensing.
